A man has been charged with multiple counts of murder after eleven people, including a five-year-old child, were killed in a vehicle attack in Vancouver.
The British Columbia Prosecution Service said that Kai-Ji Adam Lo, 30, has been charged with eight counts of second degree murder.
It added that more charges were possible. Investigators have ruled out terrorism as a motive and said Lo had a history of mental health issues.
Vancouver Police previously said a man drove into a large group of people at the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party – named after a national hero of the Philippines – near 43rd Avenue and Fraser Street at around 8.14pm local time on Saturday.
